Valentine's Day

We celebrated Valentine's day over several days...Mason's preschool class had a Valentine exchange and he got lots of treats and cute scribble-signed notes from classmates. Then on Friday, Wayne surprised me with a beautiful tulip arrangement (my faves) and a card that made me cry! (it was really awesome~pregnancy hormones or not!)

On Sunday, I gave Wayne a gift of candy, a coffee mug, and some cologne. Then we gave Mason a stuffed puppy dog covered with hearts that he had seen & wanted really badly a week prior. (The boy LOVES stuffed animals!) He also got some chocolates and a hot wheels car. We baked snickerdoodles that afternoon.

(Comparing it to his other dog)

That evening, Wayne & I dropped Mason off over at my parent's and had dinner at Red Lobster. Mason got another big bag of goodies over there which included a Zhu Zhu pet hamster, his own Buzz Lightyear flashlight, and LOTS of candy! He was in heaven and had fun playing with his cousin, Chloe'.

Our Birthdays

Wayne and I celebrated our birthdays on the 4th by:
A. Not working
B. Picking Mason up from school and going to lunch at Mazzio's
C. Having dinner at Copeland's and seeing the movie Sherlock Holmes
D. Being spoiled by family and friends (the flowers & balloons are from 2 of my co-workers!)
E. Turning a year older
F. All of the Above

The answer, of course is F!
Thanks to everyone who wished us happy birthdays!

Backyard Snow Play

We've had so much snow over the last 2 months~and personally, I'm pretty sick of it! I am glad that Mason has gotten to play in it and have a good time though. These pictures were from a few weeks ago~the snow is melted now but It's bitter cold outside and was spitting snow again today! I could never live up north!

Our BIG News...

We found out several weeks ago that we are expecting a baby!!! I think it has finally sunk in...maybe! I have been Soooo incredibly sleepy that if I wasn't pregnant, I'd be afraid I was narcoleptic! Other than the sleepiness and an upset stomach (and a few other minor early pregnancy changes) I have been feeling good!
We had fun spreading the news by showing everyone a picture like the one above. Mason is excited to have a new brother or sister! I will keep you updated on our little bean...if I can stay awake long enough!

Mason's First Sledding Adventure

We took Mason to a hill near my parent's neighborhood to sled. He wasn't too into it since he didn't have enough weight to get the sled going very fast. Wayne worked hard getting Mason up & down the hill in the deep snow...while I stood & took pictures! Mason was so cute when we told him to lean back, he would lean as far back as he could, even if he wasn't moving yet.

Broken Stuff

When it rains, it pours...we've had several things in our home break lately out of the blue and it hasn't been fun! First, a few weeks ago, we discovered that a pipe in an inside wall of our house had burst during a recent ice storm. We found this out the hard way when we turned the water on & flooded almost half of our office and half of Mason's room! We (and by "we" I mean "Wayne") had to dry the carpet out and fix the pipe, which was a week-long process. I guess we should be grateful that we caught it when it first started, because it could've been much worse!

Here's the approx. 1 inch slit in the pipe:

Next, our Directv receiver started acting up. It was skipping all around & finally decided to die just in time for me to miss 2 American Idol episodes and the Season Premier of LOST! I'd like to say I tried to keep it in prespective and not act like a spoiled DVR Brat, but I really had no patience and was really grouchy about missing my shows! (Wayne had to bite his tongue more than once!) When the repair man was scheduled to come to our house, it iced & snowed the night before and they had to cancel. Nice. Finally, they shipped us a brand new receiver and we ended up watching Lost online. I still missed Idol & couldn't find it online to get caught up. Oh well.
Wayne had left a note on the receiver for the repair man and Mason decided to write out a few notes of his own...I thought it was so cute!

Now our washer is leaking water...Maybe this will be the last thing to break for a while! (crossing fingers)

Liberty Bowl Party

Several weeks ago, we had some friends over to watch the Razorbacks play East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl. It turned out to be a houseful! We enjoyed getting to visit with our friends, eat lots of snacks & pizza and watch the kids play...as well as watch the Hogs WIN THE GAME!
There were four little kids (including Mason) and they had a ball! Mason was thrilled to have friends over to play with and they all got along really great. I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures of our guests and especially of the kids playing in Mason's room. It was a tornado! (Thanks Kim & Melissa for helping to pick up!)
I used my stadium cakepan for the first time (My mom has used it before, but not me.) My decorating skills leave much to be desired, but it tasted good!
