I'm getting a few scrapbook pages done here and there. I finally broke down and made a "to-do" layout list--that's how far behind I am! I'm enjoying using some new supplies that I got for Christmas--an added incentive. I'm ready to get caught up--maybe if I'd get off this computer I'd get something done!!! :)

Small Strides
January Family Night
We had a busy weekend--
Last night was our monthly "Family Night." This month was held at my Grandma's house (we rotate) and we had a great dinner and dessert. Mason of course had fun playing with Chloe' and Cameron. And we all had fun playing with all the treasures you can find at a grandma's house--old stuff that's neat again! These pics aren't very good, but it's documented nonetheless...

Fighting Foo
I'm so excited! Last night we bought tickets to see the Foo Fighters in Fayetteville! (say that 3 times fast!) Just a little treat for ourselves. I will definitely be posting pics after the concert on the 28th...

Being a Little Goofy
Ok, so I had a little fun with the camera last night! I'm trying to get back into my scrapbooking and get caught up again. I've really been gearing up to be the "scrapbook queen" that I once was (before Mason!) as well as branch out and do some other fun art projects. I get constant inspiration from Ali & Elsie (links to the right), Creating Keepsakes mag, Mason :), flickr, and just walking thru Hobby Lobby! I'm also trying to fix up my scrapbook area so that it's more functional and inspiring (these pics were taken in my desk area)

One Little Word
Due to the wonderful Ali Edwards and her nonstop creative inspiration, I have adopted a "word" for 2008. It's all about choosing a word that inspires you to grow in the new year, a word that you will try to intregrate into your daily life so that you may be more aware of where you're going--a goal. Read more about it here. And here. Ali chooses a new word for herself each year and this year her word is Vitality. There is a great compiled list of inspirational words from her blog here. I thought about what I wanted my word to be, and came up with several runners-up:

Today church was very tearful. Our Pastor of 15 years preached his last sermon today. His family is moving to Tyler, Texas to follow God's calling as well as be closer to his family. It wasn't really a sermon though, but a celebration of all that Reverend Chris Pulliam has shared with us. There were two slideshows (which are a sure-fire way to get me to cry!) as well as hugs, laughter, and lots of emotion. Although I've only attended church for the last two years, it's easy to see that he and his wife, Lisa have worked so hard to get our church where it is today. We are praying for a new wonderful Senior Pastor as our Interim Pastor steps in next Sunday. Like Chris said, he is not the church--we all are. Still, it's very hard to see them go. It's even harder that thier son, Patrick, is Cameron's best friend! Cameron was very upset and in tears today, as well. Luckily, he spent the entire day with the Pulliam family yesterday. Anyway, thank you and goodbye to the Pulliam Family!

Goodbye Christmas
I thought this picture pretty much summed it up--Christmas is GONE!
I finally got all of the decorations put up on Saturday. It's usually so depressing, but for some reason this year I welcomed the change. I'm liking the less-clutter, clean look now. Mason was sure to make me turn on the Christmas tree lights every morning right after we woke up and now that the tree is gone, he makes me turn the lamp on! I guess even he is a creature of routine.

My Big Baby Boy
Mason will be 18 months old on the 10th! I cannot believe how big he is and how much joy he brings us! Lately he's loving to stay in his bed for a little while after he wakes up from his nap. He likes to sit up on his knees and flop down on his belly. His favorite toys right now are balls and cars--you know, typical boy stuff!

This afternoon we went to my parent's for New Year's day lunch. My Mom makes us lucky and prosperous by serving black-eyed peas and cole slaw every year!

New Year's Eve
We had a fun New Year's Eve at George's on Dickson. We saw Big Smith sing and hung out with our friends. It was pretty fun to countdown, toast, and sing Auld Lang Syne (or however you spell that!) at midnight with a big group of people. We usually have a party at our friend's house but we all decided to change it up this year...
