Off to KC

I haven't posted in a little while--it's seems we've been so busy the last few weeks with not necessarily blog-worthy stuff. Today we are packing for our trip to Kansas City. Tomorrow is our 9 year anniversary and we drive to KC in the morning.
I'm already getting anxious and sad about leaving Mason for 2 nights:( I just know I'm gonna cry when we leave him at my parents! This will be the longest we've ever been apart, however I know it's a much needed break for us. I'm sure we'll all have fun!
I will post about our trip when we return. I plan on taking way too many pictures!

P.S. Today is my very bestest friend's birthday--HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TORI!

You know I can't post without pictures, so to see some digital layouts I made with these pictures, go here: Daily Chrysalis

Mason in the Elmo Sprinkler

I've never posted a video before, so thought I'd give it a try. This isn't that riveting, especially since Mason was so tired, but it's still cute to me!

Mason Loves Playing Outside!

Mason just can't get enough of the outdoors. He begs to go outside and we try to wait for the evening hours when it cools off (just a little) before taking him out. He loves to "mow" and tonight we let him play with a birthday gift--the Elmo water sprinkler. He loved it, however he had NOT had a nap ALL DAY, so he was kinda in a daze the whole time.

He loves to slide down head first on his belly!
And he's mastered the rock wall

Zzzzzz....

What a Sweetie

MASON'S 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY

I tried so hard to narrow down the approx 200 pictures that were taken between me, my mom & my sister and this is how many I still felt like posting--so bare with me!

Last Saturday, Mason had a Backyardigans birthday party. We had a houseful and served hamburgers, hot dogs and all the sides, etc. We then moved on to the cake & rainbow sherbet. After we were all stuffed, we settled down and unwrapped lots of cute toys and clothes and then headed to the backyard to unveil the big surprise gift from Mommy & Daddy--an outdoor plaything with a slide. (what DO you call those things? Anyway...) He had a wonderful time although he was a zombie from NO NAP before the party! He literally passed out right after everyone left, but only slept 30 minutes, much to our dismay (we were pretty exhausted as well!) Thanks to everyone for all of the clothes, pjs, and toys! Mason has been having so much fun playing with all his new stuff!

Mason's 2nd Birthday at Chuck E Cheese's

Wayne & I took off work to spend the day with Mason on his actual birthday and we went to Chuck E's for lunch. Mason had so much fun! We had fun, too, but were pretty worn out from chasing him all over that place!

Waking up from his nap

"big lellow bus!" was his favorite!

Mommy, why is Chuck E's neck broken? (not sure why Chuck's head turned so far around like an owl, but Mason wasn't really worried about it)

He ate a whole piece of cheese pizza plus a few bites of another piece!

July 4th BBQ #2

I posted about BBQ #1 at Tori's house several days ago. It was during the day and this one was that evening at our friends' Stuart & Melissa's house. We all brought a dish and the food was great. Mason was in kiddie heaven with all the other little ones and the tons of toys. At one point I counted 12 kids under the age of 5! Almost everyone left early because all the kids were worn out. We started to leave as well when the neighborhood fireworks started and Mason got his 2nd wind. He loved them! I was afraid he'd be scared of them, but he was cheering and clapping and saying "Wow, big fireworks!" We got home so late that night that Mason got to bed at 10:30!

I'm Behind on Blogging

If I don't colapse first, I will soon be posting:

July 4th Evening BBQ at the Tyndall's
Mason's 1st trip to Chuck E Cheese on his 2nd birthday
Mason's Backyardigans birthday party

Mason's party is tomorrow at our house and we're grilling hamburgers & hot dogs & all the goodies that go with that. We have a large family, so if you're reading this and wondering why you weren't invited, please don't feel left out! I would love to invite all of our friends and Mason would LOVE playing with the kids, however we're already expecting around 25 people tomorrow. Anyway, I gotta get to bed--big day ahead. I can't believe I have a 2 year old. (did I say that yet?)
