I'm just really getting into www.Flickr.com lately. What a great community of photographers that share their pics with the world! (click on the links above to view the photographer and see thier other photos)

I made this fun little mosaic but it actually got cut off a little- It's really 6x6 square tiles. Oh well, I guess that's enough L's for one mosaic!

A Week in the Life of Mason

Ok, these pics were actually taken over the last two weeks, but you get the idea. I had so many random pics I wanted to share, so this post is long...

Mason's favorite game--Hide and Seek
(Peek a Boo, Find me & Scare me!)

The Scowl (aka the furrowed brow)

Silly Face that he likes to make...

Liking bathtime again.
(He went through a phase where he did not want to get in the tub and when he did, he would NOT sit down!)

After his bath, being silly...

Just being a Sweetie!

Pablo Lovin'

Mason is a huge Razorback fan. He can spot a Razorback from a mile away and loves to point them out!

Sunday was my Mom's birthday and we all went to Colton's to eat
(thus the peanut shells on the floor!)
I couldn't resist putting Mason on this saddle. I had to snap it quick before he fell off!

Mr. Big Blue Eyes

The End (for now!)

Angela and Lindsay and the Church Choir

Angela (my sister) and I, before going to the Walton Arts Center a few weeks ago (when we saw the Putnam Co. Spelling Bee)
Tonight my whole family went to church to see Fall Follies, a wonderful production the choir (in which Angela is in) put on as a fundraiser. It was so good! There were songs from Sister Act, the Altar Boyz, Nunsense, and my favorite, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? We just watched that movie today (for the 10th time--it happened to be on tv, go figure) When Mason gets older and/or if I drop a few other things I'm involved in, I would love to join the choir. I love to sing and it looks like a lot of fun. There are some really talented singers and their Christmas Cantata is wonderful each year!

Madame Butterfly

Wow! This was an awesome show! Mom, Angela, Chloe', and I went to see the Houston Ballet perform Madame Butterfly at the Walton Arts Center last night. It was beautiful and sad. Such amazing dancers--I don't know how they do it!

"One of the nation's best ballet companies." The New York Times

From the Walton Arts Center website:

"The story of Madame Butterfly is one of our most beloved tragic love stories, immortalized in modern terms in the Broadway sensation Miss Saigon. It's the gripping story of a young woman who falls for a foreigner and clings to his empty promise of lifelong love and happiness. The moving tale of a beautiful geisha's love and loss has never been told more eloquently than in Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch's exquisite, two-act ballet rendition of "Madame Butterfly."

Scrapbook Layouts

I'm forcing myself to get some of these layouts done! I'm so far behind--I have stacks of pictures going back over a year ago. I made these last night and tonight. So, here's Mason's 1st visit with Santa and the Halloween party we went to last year...

He was soooo sleepy! (He was 5 months old)
Love these glitter stickers I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby!

Journaling--at least I had written this down last year--or else I wouldn't have remembered the little details!

Page 1 (left side) : Wayne was the Grim Reaper and I was a Pirate

Page 2 (right side) : Our crazy friends

Gotta check out Nacho Libre! (he made the costume!)
I'm off to create some more...Wish me luck!

I've Been Suckered!

This was my yard 2 days ago!!!!! I've been Suckered! A friend of mine suckered me into donating to Arkansas Children's Hospital--what an honor!

Exerpt from The Morning News of NWA:

The Arkansas Children's Hospital Northwest Arkansas Circle of Friends kicked off their fourth annual "Suckers" fundraising campaign.
The campaign will go from Sept. 17 to Oct. 11, with more than 300 homes to be "suckered." More than 50 ladies are volunteering to help "sucker" their friends. The fundraiser works by volunteers secretly placing giant (three-feet tall) brightly colored suckers in the yards of those they know would like to help support Arkansas Children's Hospital. Those "suckered" then pay a donation for the sucker removal and, organizers hope they will recommend someone else to be "suckered."

Reflective... (& Updated "5" Quiz)

I was looking back on my blog and reading some old posts. As a person who has never kept a journal, (my scrapbooks have always served as my "journal") I realized how lucky I am to have documentation of my daily life--especially before I was pregnant with Mason and throughout my pregnancy (since most of my posts these days are nothing but Mason!) Sometimes it's hard to remember exactly what life was like just 2 years ago! Also, I'm still working on my pregnancy scrapbook and now I have instant journaling for the pages--what I was doing, thinking, & feeling at the time. Maybe someday I'll get the pregnancy book finished. I think I'm procrastinating working on it because then the pregnancy will be a solidified memory--no longer a fresh life-changing event that just happened. That may sound wierd to you, but if you're a mother, I'm sure you understand! Holding onto the image of your tiny baby as he grows each day is hard! So if my blog serves no other purpose, at least it is documenting those little everyday happenings that I probably wouldn't remember otherwise. Which is why I did it in the first place.

I posted this "5" Quiz in 2005 and I thought that I should update it for 2007..it's funny to see what I was listening to back then (if you're curious, you'll have to look back!) --here's what my answers are right now...

5 songs of right now:
Kanye West "Stronger"
Fergie "Big Girls Don't Cry"
Plain White T's "Hey There Delilah"
Corrine Bailey Rae "I'd Like To"
John Mayer "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room"
5 snacks:
buttery popcorn
caramel apples with nuts (it's fall!)
cereal
goldfish crackers
pop tarts
5 things I'd do with a million $'s:
share it with family
new cars & a big house
save some
donate some
new toys & clothes for Mason
5 places I'd run away to:
Paris
Italy
New York
the beach
anywhere with Mason!
5 things I'd never wear:
legwarmers
real fur
spandex
piercings other than ears
my birthday suit (in public!)
5 greatest joys:
my healthy, happy Mason
my family
my faith
my husband
scrapbooking :)
5 current reads:
Application Study Bible
Parent's magazine
The Mermaid Chair
Creating Keepsakes magazine
Glamour (it's the only glimpse of glamour in my life!)
5 things I can't stand:
inconsiderate people
chicken fried steak
tailgaters (the driving kind...heehee)
stress
my job right now!
Maybe I'll look back at this in 2 years and laugh!
I think I'll "tag" some of you to do this--I'd love to see your answers!!!

Maggie's Birthday Party

Mason was invited to Maggie's birthday party (my friend, Amber's adorable little girl) at Wilson Park in Fayetteville last Sunday. Mason had a great time. He got to swing, play with a bat and ball, see lots of doggies, eat a cupcake, and run around with some little girls! At the end of the party, he hugged each of the girls--some a little longer than they wanted to be hugged! What a sweetie. Of course he crashed on the way back home.
