More Waterhose Fun

After the playground last weekend, we were all so hot that we came home and I put Mason in his swim trunks and headed to the backyard. He loves to be sprayed with the hose! I have plans to visit the pool very soon. Swim trunks, sunscreen, little swimmers diapers, etc. have all been bought. The only prob: Mommy needs a suit badly!
I think he'll like the pool. He will put his face in the water in the bathtub, which I find amazing because the years I was a lifeguard & swim instructor, little kids DO NOT usually like to do that! Maybe he'll be a little fish...

At the Playground

Last weekend, we took Mason up to the playground at the elementary school by our house. It was HOT outside, but we had fun going down the slides & doing a lot of climbing. Mommy took Mason down the enclosed tube slide & got really clostrophobic, so after that Daddy took over with the slides! And I think the heat got to me, because I posed for a "pole dancer" picture!

My Haircut

I got my hair chopped off today! I was getting so sick of all that hair. Even after cutting 5 inches off recently, it still seemed long. It's a little shorter than I wanted and I look a little like a circle head, but I still like it. It'll be cooler and easier to blow out straight for sure.

Cornhole (the game)

Some of you may be familiar with the lawn game of "Cornhole" and some of you may not. Wayne & I first played the game years ago with our friends & it was called "Baggo." I thought it was the same thing, but turns out Cornhole is just slightly different in rules and size of the board. Anyway, I still like to call it Baggo, much to Wayne's dismay. (Baggo just sounds less like something off of Beavis & Butthead)

So, basically the game goes like this: 2 teams throw bean bags (or corn bags in this case) at the boards, trying to make it in the hole for 3 points or at least on the board for 1 point. (it's harder than you think--the board is slick)
Teams alternate, so an opponant can try to knock your bag off the board. Whichever team reaches 21 first, wins. It's really fun once you get going.
Here are a few links to some stuff about Cornhole: Here and Here and Here

We've always thought it'd be neat to own a set and although they do sell them online, Wayne decided he was going to make them instead. (we thought it'd be cheaper to make them, but turns out it really wasn't. Nevertheless, it's cool to have our own handmade version.) They are not completely done yet, but almost. They're just lacking a red razorback on the top of each board. (Wayne did order the bags online.) I think they turned out great--he did a nice job!

These pics show the progression so far...

This is what I'm doing at midnight....

It's a good thing I'm a night owl, because when else would I get to work on all this fun stuff?!? (Sure, I only work 2 days a week, but have you ever tried painting with a toddler by your side?)

Check out what I've been working on besides scrapbooking:
A Flower Painting
Some Distressed Letters
A Frame
A Name Painting
Men's vs. Women's Hygiene Products
Other articles (mostly scrapbooking how-to's)

Bathtime for Mason

I hadn't taken bath pictures of Mason in quite a while, so I thought I'd take a few the other night. They didn't turn out very good, between my crappy camera that takes sooooo long to take the pic, and him moving around like a wild man, I got just a few ok ones.

He loves to play with a cup & dump water everywhere

Prune Feet!

Father's Day 2008

In a nutshell, Mason & I went over to see my Dad and give him the new Journey CD/DVD set (since we just saw them in concert) and then me & Mason, Mom, Dad, & Ang went to eat at Colton's (Dad's pick & it was good!) The peanut shells being on the floor kinda disturbed Mason, who thought he'd should then try throwing his crayons down there, too. Wayne had to work in the morning (from home) and then he did yard work. Doesn't sound like a fun day for him, but he assured me that "these holidays aren't as big of a deal for guys as they are for girls." hmmmm...

My Latest Scrapbook Layouts

Most of you probably know how behind I am in scrapbooking. I finally got with the program this last week and got some pictures scrapped. (I completed 13 layouts to be exact! Can you tell I'm proud?) They jump all over the place--from 2006to 2007, so don't think it's odd that they don't go together. I have a long to-do list that I pull from, depending on my mood. Although I'm not completing them in order, rest assured the layouts will be in chronological order in the albums! Some of these are a little blurry--sorry! I hate my camera with a passion!

(Click on the pictures to enlarge, if you want to read them)

Therun-onsentenceofwhathappenedlastweek:)

I'm still alive! I can't remember the last time I went a week without posting! This week was eventful...
I got to have lunch with my best friend, Tori. It was so nice to talk and chill with her for a while.

Then on Wednesday I worked and then went to the Wal-Mart shareholder's concert with my parents & sister. I got to see Journey! They were so good! The new lead singer sounds just like Steve Perry and the story about him is inspiring!
All American Rejects opened for them (who? I'm the only one who doesn't know them I guess! I don't listen to that station. Anyway...) And they surprised us with One Republic! They came out and sang 3 songs (2 of which are on the radio & I love them both. May have to invest in that cd) It was a fun night.

Then Thursday, I worked & got off early & went to Party City in Fayetteville & bought more Backyardigans themed stuff for Mason's upcoming birthday, grabbed some food from McAlister's & met up with my family again to go to another W-M concert-- Carrie Underwood & Keith Urban! Besides waiting in 40 mph winds and standing in line 35 minutes for a bottle of water, it rocked! Carrie was so cute and Keith was too! He is such a great guitarist & put on a wonderful show. He came out to the audience several times and even gave a fan the guitar he was playing!!

I forgot my camera both nights (what's up with me lately?!?) so I took some pics with my phone. I'll share them as soon as I figure out how to do that. I'm still getting used to my new phone. ( I did NOT take these pics) So Wayne & Mason got to spend 2 nights together without Mommy. I heard they went great.

Mya's Birthday Party at Fun City

Friday night, Mason & I went to a birthday party at Fun City. It was my best friend's daughter's 8th birthday and we had a great time! Mason dragged me all over that place--he was in heaven! And I found out that they have really good pizza there!
