For those of you who regularly read my blog,(thank you) I know I've been slacking a little latley but I like to blog "guilt free" so I'm acting like I don't care when really inside I'm thinking of all the things I need to tell you that's going on right now! Thanks for caring what's going on in my life!

AP - In a vote that shook the government, Wall Street and markets around the world, the House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue for the nation's financial system, leaving both parties' lawmakers and the Bush administration scrambling to pick up the pieces. I'm so done with being sick

Weather changes.
Mold & pollen go up.
Mason gets a cough.
Trip to pediatrician.
Mason has a virus.
Fast forward a few days=
Mommy has a virus.
Fast forward a few days=
Daddy has a virus.

We have all been coughing our heads off, having headaches & muscle aches & Wayne even has had a temp around 101.
Luckily we're all starting to feel better.
Mason is pretty much back to normal, I'm well on my way & Wayne is trailing is the distance, still feeling kinda crappy.

Here are some pictures (because we all know I can't post without pics!) Mason is growing so fast! Someday I will have to look up to talk to him!

Ike Broke Our Tree

High winds and rain from Hurricane Ike reached us last night around midnight. We were still up, so we saw and heard how fierce the 40-50 mph winds were! I went to bed around 1 and at 1:15 I heard a big POP, followed by many bangs. One of our tall trees in the backyard lost a whole section! It was about a third of the tree--it snapped and caught the edge of the storage buiding as it fell. There is some light damage to the roof of it. A few large limbs of our Bradford Pear came down as well (I think the big tree caught them on the way down) We couldn't tell how bad it was until this morning. Wayne spent the day (with the help of our wonderful neighbor & his chainsaw & flatbed) cutting up the tree & hauling it off. Fun.
I can't believe how strong Ike still is this far up on land! I mean, we are in Arkansas, for goodness sake! I feel bad complaining about a tree when there are so many that have lost everything. God bless them...

Mason's basketball goal is in there! It's a little wonky, but will be ok.

Here's what I get for trying to catch a few extra Zzz's...

Ok, so lately when Mason decides he's ready to hop out of bed at the crack of dawn, full of energy & ready to play, I've been asking him to go play quietly in his room while Mommy snoozes a little while longer. So sue me. He has done great & I think he even kinda likes it. He goes to his room, turns on the light & plays away, frequently stopping at my bedside to tell me or show me something.

Well, Friday morning went just the same however, the door to the office was left ajar (it's usually closed with a child proof door lock on the outside) and so of course, Mason went on in, unbeknownst to me. He them came to the bed and announced, "I color the Razorback!" My eyes immediately opened and I said, "What Razorback?" I hopped out of bed and dragged myself to the office and sighed with relief to see a football schedule on the desk that had been profusely colored with pen to where you could barely id it anymore.

Then I looked down as Mason said, "I color the feet." The bottoms of his feet had pen scribbles all over them. I promptly scolded him, reminding him that we are only to color on paper. Then I pulled up his pajama pants legs and found that he had drawn all the way up his legs, to the knees! He had many nice circles on his kneecaps. I held back laughter as I scolded him again. It actually came off fairly easy in the bathtub, except one small area on his knee. I guess it was a kind of Toddler Rite of Passage.

I've learned my lesson...
Make sure the office door is closed before I sleep in!

"Great Strides" Cystic Fibrosis Walk is Saturday!

Tomorrow morning is the "Great Strides" walk to raise funds for the CF Foundation. I'm proud to be on the committee again this year & hope to see you there! Registration starts at 9am with the walk at 10am, but there is far more to do & see than the walk itself. There's a car show, kids activities & inflatables, door prizes, lots of good food & much more. The weather should be beautiful--not to hot--so please join us for a fun day tomorrow! (see details on the flyer below or call or e-mail me with any questions) Mason is going to be so excited to see Spongebob!

The week is over...

My Uncle has flown back to Cali, and I have had 3 days at my new job. I really like it so far. I'm soooo excited that I have my own office! I can't wait to make it homey. I'm working in Billing and I think once I learn the new system & get a grasp on the "big picture," I will find it very doable with MUCH less stress!

Uncle Jerrold & grandma at Colton's

Angela (sister) & Mom having some margies

I've been to the new Pottery Barn! I'm in love with 99% of everything in there, especially this Halloween-staged table! (the pic does it no justice--go there check it out!)
