What's Going On...

Here's a hodge-podge of what's been going on in our lives over the last week:

Since his first ride on "Chilo" on the carousel at the Promenade, Mason is now a seasoned pro! He's been on "Cherokee Blue" whom Mason called "Ketchup" (he was ketchup colored!)

and "Elvis" (Mommy rode with him this time & got a little green-I'm not a big fan of going round-and-round!) And yes, Mason needs a haircut.

He still loves to play with Playdoh. Here he is with a few creations that Wayne & I helped him make~

Mason has really been into building "towers" with his Mega Blocks. This is his "Tah Dah" look:

I got my hair cut on Friday~Here's BEFORE:

and AFTER:

When my mom, Mason & I were out & about on Friday afternoon, we stopped by Village on the Creeks to see if the flowers were in bloom yet down by the water. They weren't, but some lovely daffodils lined the area around the parking lot, so we stopped for an impromptu photo session (thus Mason's non-picture worthy outfit) I LOVE how they turned out! He just sat right down & posed.

The Chapel on the Creeks was open and I've always wanted to see the inside(I'm dying to go to a wedding there!) It was gorgeous to say the least. There is an amazing painting of the Last Supper in the Groom's Quarters! Anyway-back to the story~no photography was allowed inside the Chapel, but we walked around the side and found this beautiful 2-sided bench.

On Saturday, Wayne mowed for the first time this season, raked up leaves & sweet gum balls from our trees (ugg) and edged. Mason had to mow as well. Yesterday we purchased a new Bubble Mower at Wal-mart to replace the cheap-o $4 mower he's been using. He's been playing with it non-stop in the house (with out the bubbles of course!) and can't wait until it's warm enough to get back outside.

That's all for now!

Weekend Recap

Warning: If you have better things to do than read about a boy and his underwear, I suggest you do them.

Saturday I started seriously potty training Mason. I decided to let him wear big boy pants (aka underwear) all day & just let the accidents happen so he could see how icky it felt & want to go to the potty instead. (This was decided after much research) We broke out the Spongebob (of course), Deigo, and Spiderman underwear and let him wear just a shirt & undies all day.

By 12:30, Mason had gone through 9 pairs of underwear.

Never has the child peed so many times in a single day. (okay--LATELY) Of course I was pumping him full of fluids for potty training purposes, but seriously? Since I had only bought 9 pairs of underwear, we resorted to using pull-ups (which I hate) while the undies were being washed by Daddy. (lucky guy) So he never actually went while on the potty, but he's super excited about wearing the underwear now. First thing Sunday morning when I went to change him, I habitually reached for a diaper in my half-asleep stooper and Mason said, "I wanna wear my underwear. Diapers are for babies." I was so proud! He's so ready!

Saturday night I snuggled up in bed with some junk food & Halloween candy and watched the movie, Atonement. Man, was it good & slightly depressing.

Sunday I had to get out of the house after 2 days of being home, so I stuck Mason in a diaper & we hit the stores with Mom & Angela. We went to Shirley's Flowers for their annual holiday open house. I wanted to bust out my camera so bad & snap photos of the gorgeousness dripping from every corner, but I resisted. Too bad~they would've been a nice addition to this post.
Then we went to the Promenade because I HAD to buy Mason some Fall/Winter clothes from our fave store, The Children's Place. I got some great deals & ended up leaving with 4 pairs of cargo slacks, 1 pair of windpants, 1 pair of carpenter jeans, 6 long-sleeved T's and a pair of adorable football-shaped slippers for those cold-toesies. At JC Penney's I got him 2 pairs of athletic shoes because they were buy one, get one half off. So the child now has clothes.

Mason failed to take a nap during our outting (he usually sleeps right through our shopping, but not today) so he was a bit unruly by the time we made it to Walmart. When we finally got home, he ate dinner & went straight to bed. Wayne painted our garage while we were gone! He got about half done before having to quit. It looks Sooooo much better already. Well, that about sums it up. I guess I was in the mood to write because this has gotten a little lengthy! Ok-Im done!

These pictures are random & have nothing to do with my post, but I hate to post without pictures & thought I'd spare you the potty training visuals...

I've got my few Fall/Thanksgiving decorations out

This is the baker's rack in my kitchen. I moved a few things around the other day.

Therun-onsentenceofwhathappenedlastweek:)

I'm still alive! I can't remember the last time I went a week without posting! This week was eventful...
I got to have lunch with my best friend, Tori. It was so nice to talk and chill with her for a while.

Then on Wednesday I worked and then went to the Wal-Mart shareholder's concert with my parents & sister. I got to see Journey! They were so good! The new lead singer sounds just like Steve Perry and the story about him is inspiring!
All American Rejects opened for them (who? I'm the only one who doesn't know them I guess! I don't listen to that station. Anyway...) And they surprised us with One Republic! They came out and sang 3 songs (2 of which are on the radio & I love them both. May have to invest in that cd) It was a fun night.

Then Thursday, I worked & got off early & went to Party City in Fayetteville & bought more Backyardigans themed stuff for Mason's upcoming birthday, grabbed some food from McAlister's & met up with my family again to go to another W-M concert-- Carrie Underwood & Keith Urban! Besides waiting in 40 mph winds and standing in line 35 minutes for a bottle of water, it rocked! Carrie was so cute and Keith was too! He is such a great guitarist & put on a wonderful show. He came out to the audience several times and even gave a fan the guitar he was playing!!

I forgot my camera both nights (what's up with me lately?!?) so I took some pics with my phone. I'll share them as soon as I figure out how to do that. I'm still getting used to my new phone. ( I did NOT take these pics) So Wayne & Mason got to spend 2 nights together without Mommy. I heard they went great.

It was a busy week...

Monday:
Mom & I went to Chloe's Drama performance. They did funny skits from SNL & Mad TV. I know I'm biased, but Chloe' really did great! She has found her niche. I forgot my camera & was unhappy, but Mom brought hers and got some shots, which she needs to e-mail me.

Tuesday:

I attended the Junior League Annual Dinner, which is our last meeting of the league year. There was a buffet dinner with wine, awards, and time to visit with friends. I got to take home one of the table centerpieces, these beautiful pink Gerber daisies--my 2nd fave flower! (& Christy's too!:))

Wednesday & Thursday:
Two more days down the drain--spent my time at work! ugg.

Friday:
Wayne was off, so we went to Lowe's and dropped some dough. We cannot set foot in that establishment without laying down some money. We left with a new ceiling fan (one with a light fixture, unlike our current one, and much prettier),a new outdoor light fixture to replace the ugly brass outdated thing we have, and paint for the hallway & garage, along with various paint supplies. Wayne installed the outside light fixture and I swear it makes the whole porch look better! (I should take a picture of it)

Friday evening, I took Mason with me to my work dinner to celebrate National Hospital Week. He had fun playing with the other kids. He was friendly to everyone, held hands with my co-workers' kids, and let random people pick him up! (Which is a little scary--he doesn't have that "stranger danger" thing figured out yet)

Saturday:

Went to Hobby Lobby & my parent's house while Wayne painted the hallway. It turned out great! Then I took Mason to Sydney's birthday party (my friend Heather's daughter) in Elkins (my first ever trip the the town of Elkins!) and Mason had a blast! He got to jump around in a small bouncy house that was just his size, play on the slide & swings, running around barefoot in the grass, chase bubbles, play with the other kids, & eat cake. He had some great fun "kid" time! Too bad I forgot my camera!!!!! (so mad) I think my friends Amber & Heather got some pics of Mason though...please send them to me!

So, needless to say, I'm pretty pooped out after all those activities. I'm not complaining though--they were all fun! (except working!)
