Easter 2011

Who's in the mood for Easter pics in July?? I WILL get caught up on this blog...

Mason colored eggs while Madelyn looked on (can't wait until she's big enough to participate!)

My Grandma ("Gigi" to the kids) stopped by one day with these big baskets for the kids:Easter Sunday (Maddie's 1st Easter.) We got dressed up & the kids enjoyed their baskets, then we went to my parents' to visit.

Easter 2010: Part 2

After church on Easter, we ran home & gave Mason his Easter basket full of (new, non-dried out) PlayDoh, a stuffed animal, a car, and some candy. (it was a little sunny!)

Then we headed to my parent's house for lunch. My mom had made a big meal for the whole family & it was good!
Grandma, Chloe', Lindsay (A.K.A. me!), Wayne, (Mason is in the corner by Wayne), Dad, Angela, Forrest, Zach (Forrest's son), Cameron..and Mom was taking the picture.

Check out my mom's beautiful "tablescaping!"

After lunch, Mason got several treats & toys from everyone...

Then we went outside to let him hunt eggs. He found all 57 eggs pretty fast & had a great time!

Easter 2010: Part 1

We had a great (& very busy) Easter Sunday! We managed to snap a few quick pictures before church. I was elated that the weather was actually nice for a change on Easter! It's usually cold & wet but it was a beautiful day & Mason was able to wear the short- sleeved shirt I'd bought for him.
And since I realized that I hadn't had any pregnant pictures taken yet (gasp!) I made sure to get a few quick belly shots in! I'm 17 weeks and feeling great! I can't believe that I'm approaching the half way mark. I will share more baby stuff soon...promise!

Dying Easter Eggs

On Saturday, Mason colored Easter eggs! We have about 60 plastic eggs to hunt that are filled with goodies, but I wanted him to experience coloring real eggs, so I boiled 18 eggs & 6 of the shells cracked, so he colored a dozen eggs! (which was plenty) I bought this contraption that you drop dye in, place the egg inside & put the lid on top. You then push down on the button on top & it spins the egg around in the dye. It creates a pretty marble-looking design. It wasn't messy at all and made the eggs so pretty~plus Mason liked pushing the button down over & over to coat to eggs.

THESE eggs, however, did NOT turn out so good!!! Long story short, I tried to make Jello jigglers 3D eggs and 2 things went wrong~I forgot to grease the molds first and the molds wouldn't stay closed & therefore leaked out the hot Jello! It was a disaster! The good news is that they taste good & Mason likes them!

Our Easter Craft

A few days ago, we made Easter Crosses. I cut out 2 crosses from cardboard and then Mason and I each picked a paint color & painted them. I picked white & Mason picked gold. (good choice, huh?) He ended up adding a lot of white to his as well. Then we glued on buttons and added ribbon to hang them by. We both had fun!
Disclaimer: I took way too many pictures of this little project, and I'm posting a lot of them~ Mason just looks so cute concentrating on what he's doing, it was hard to narrow them down!

I hope to get some eggs dyed tomorrow, although I haven't actually done it since I was a kid. I'm a little apprehensive about it, however, I really want Mason to experience dying real Easter eggs. I bought this contraption that you put the egg in and push a big button and it swirls the egg around in the dye~without having to touch it! It's supposed to make it marble-looking. We'll see how that goes.
I also hope to make Jello eggs tomorrow~wish me luck!

Such a good painter...

and gluer! (Is that a word?)

Our Easter

Easter Sunday was cold and it rained cats & dogs! Why does it always have to be like that on Easter?!? I decided to leave Mason at home while I went to church since it was so cold & wet outside & I knew I'd end up having to park far away.

After church, Wayne, Mason & I went to my parent's house for Easter lunch. My sister got to pick our meal since this week is her birthday, and she picked chicken enchiladas. Although not your traditional Easter meal, it was delicious! Mom also made banana pudding for dessert & it was equally as yummy.
After the meal, we all gave the kids their Easter baskets. Mason got way too much candy, which he was pretty happy about, as well as some fun little toys.

Mom's beautiful Spring/Easter table setting~that orange thing is a huge carrot that I love!

Egg Hunter

I'm a little behind on posting...April is such a busy month!
On the Saturday before Easter, the weather was nice and we knew it was going to turn cold & rainy for Sunday, so I took Mason to the backyard for an impromptu Egg Hunt. I had only half planned on doing it, thinking that he would have another opportunity somehow, but when I realized he wouldn't, I couldn't deprive him of a tradition! He had so much fun! He found all the eggs and made me hide them again!
