Halloween 2010~The Kids

Mason is really into Halloween wanted to be something scary this year. After debating whether he should be Scooby Doo (not scary at all) he decided on a skeleton. I didn't care for the mask that came with the costume, (and didn't want him to wear a mask for safety reasons anyway) so I just painted his face. I think it turned out really cute~and just scary enough!

I had trouble finding a costume small enough for Madelyn, so I ended up making her a tutu and onesie. I bought the pumpkin hat & added some tulle to match the tutu. So she was a little Punkin Head!



As every year, we went over to my parent's house to eat chili & go trick-or-treating in thier neighborhood. My family watched Madelyn while we took Mason out.

Unfortunetly, this is what Madelyn did while we were out trick-or-treating with Mason. She had a belly ache & screamed! :(

Halloween Night

Mason was a pirate for Halloween this year. He had the pirate talk down~he'd say things like, "Arr, Me Mateys" and "Walk the plank!" As we always do on Halloween night, we went to my parent's house for a chili dinner and trick-or-treating around their neighborhood. My parent's get a lot of trick-or-treaters at their door, so it's also fun to see all the kids' costumes and pass out candy.
We got out fairly early, due to having a 3 year old and the fact that there happened to be a Razorback football game on at trick-or-treating time! (Can you say "scheduling conflict?")
Mason remembered about half of the time to say "Trick or Treat" and managed to mumble "Thank you" at each house until I we pointed out that people couldn't hear him. The next house we visited got a very loud "THANK YOU!!!" We couldn't help but laugh.
Mason did good walking around until he got tired toward the end and Daddy "got" to carry all 40 pounds of him.
The rest of the evening was spent handing out candy and laughing with family and a few friends...another great Halloween!

Fall Festival/Trunk-Or-Treat

Yes, I'm still posting about Halloween...On Oct 25th, I took Mason to our church's Fall Festival. He was excited to get to wear his costume a little early and participate in...

There was also a cake walk (that I didn't get a picture of) where Mason won a plate of cupcakes.
But his favorite part was Trunk-Or-Treat! (AKA getting candy!)




We loved seeing all the cars decorated and some of them were a little creepy. But Mason is NOT at all scared of such things. He went right under this black curtain and into this "graveyard" scene and reached for the skeleton hand!


They served a dinner of hot dogs and frito chili pie and lots of sweet treats~Yum! I'm so glad we went and that Mason had such a good time!

Our Halloween

Mason dressed up as a Tiger for his 3rd Halloween. We had a full fun day of trick or treating. We started at my workplace with a goblin parade then went down to the hospital where I used to work. Then we headed to Wayne's work to show our little Tiger around. We stopped off at my parent's to eat lunch then went to my sister's work~at an elementary school. Mason loved seeing the "big kids" that went to school there. (although Mason was about the same size as many of the Kindergarteners!!! seriously.) After that, we visited my Mom's work. Mason was stripping his paws and headpiece off by this point. I don't blame him.
We went home for a much needed nap & some downtime before the evening trick or treating. Wayne joined us at my parent's when he got off work. We ate chili & we took Mason around the neighborhood. We got to see Cameron as a mummy before he went to a party. Mason had so much fun & got way too much candy!
