Organizing Like Martha

I have been on the craziest--most-needed-nesting-cleaning-organizing-getting-old-crap-out-of- my-life-- spree lately. And I must say, it's awesome! It's really working for me. I made this out-of-control To Do List a couple weeks ago that has HUGE projects on it--and I'm actually tackeling them one by one. It's very rewarding--especially to a pregnant anal-organized person like myself!
Here's some stuff I've done:
1. Cleaned out the small hall closet & organized all the towels--they look so pretty now.
2. Cleaned out the big hall closet--most proud of my rubbermaid bins that hold gift bags, tissue paper etc. that I labeled with my Dymo.
3. Made a receipt basket for the office--a home for debit receipts waiting to be processed.
4. Cleaned out and totally relabeled the entire filing cabinet (2 shelves) and filed ALL invoices from the last YEAR!!!!
5. Cleaned out the Nursery closet and organized my scrapbook stuff inside so I can open the door & scrap! (required emptiying approx 10 boxes of keepsake-stuff--it was hard to part with some of it, but I managed. The rest got reboxed and sent to the attic)
6. Emptied (almost--still working on it) Armoire so baby clothes can go in it. I moved all my scrapbooks and photo albums to the living room entertainment center cabinets that weren't even being used yet.
7. Put out Easter decorations.
8. Got Easter cards ready to mail.
And Wayne taped off & primed the Nursery walls!
Goodbye pink--hello blue! Yes, it's sad to see my scrapbook room go! :(
So I think I can go by "Martha" for a while. I still have about 6 things on the list to do, so I better go!

So I'm a terrible blogger. I know.

Since I haven't posted in over a month, her's what's going on:
1. IT'S A BOY! Mason Cole is growing and moving all around--it's so awesome!
2. Grandma is on her last dose of cancer treatment & doing well.
3. I like my new position at work in the Nursery, but it's stressful.
4. We have picked out the Crib and bedding for the Nursery!
5. It's Spring! The weather has been nice lately!
6. I finally started working on our "New Home" scrapbook now that we've been here almost a year!

TO DO: Plan a yard sale, paint the nursery, buy a trillion baby things, Spring cleaning everywhere in & outside of the house, catch up on my scrapbooks before the baby arrives....
Gotta go get busy with all that! (you see why I haven't posted??!!??)

Happy Birthday to Us!

It's my Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah! It's also Wayne's birthday!!!!!!!!! (the big 3-0!) We're goiong out to eat at Copeland's tonight. yummy. Happy b-day to us!

Here's the lowdown on what's happened in the last 2 weeks:
1. Suddenly developed Carpell (sp?) Tunnel due to pregnancy. Hurts like a bitch-been to the Dr. twice and now I have to wear a wrist brace everyday and night for it to be bareable. I guess it's payback for not being sick in my 1st trimester.
2. Started my new job in the Nursery this week! I think I'm really going to like it once I learn everything. It's been a little overwhelming but what new job isn't? The bad part--the person who's training me (which just happens to be one of my best friends) was out sick for 2 days during my training. So I flew solo for 2 days! It sucked. And I have a gimp hand/wrist.
3. The Nursery nurses got me a b-day gift on Friday and card that everyone had signed and got cupcakes and sang me happy birthday! It was so cool and made me feel very welcomed. My friend, Amanda, also got me some scrapbook goodies, etc. and a balloon :)

Next week: Wayne's on vacation, family night at my parent's, my ULTRASOUND!!!!!!!

My Week in a Nutshell (TGIF!)

I'm tired (zzzzzz) and I'm getting a big prego belly (ok not big but it's there) and I'm training 2 people at work to take my positon (very tiresome and frustrating--and yes, it does take 2 people to replace me :) ) and I get to transfer into the Nursery in 2 weeks (yes!) but then I have to get trained to work in there (ugg) but Feb 9th is my ultrasound (OMG I can't beleive I'm already almost 5 months and we're going to find out the sex of our baby!!!!) so that's about it (goodnight)
By the way, I just realized that the Larry King background in the pic below soooo matches my blog!!! I meant to do that!

Celeb News

Ok, so I'm bored and decided to surf a little & found some really disturbing "news" (if you could call it that) on the web. Thought I'd update myself (& you) on some crazy celeb news. For example:

Emenim & his exwife Kim are going to REMARRY! Do we all remember the song about him murdering her? It was pretty icky. It must be love...check out the full story!

James Frey, author of A Million Little Pieces (that I happen to be reading) supposedly made up some of his autobiographical book about drug rehab & everyone is pissed! I guess it would be a let down if you were an addict who saw him as a role model. The crazy thing is that his book most likely wouldn't have been on the bestseller list if
Oprah hadn't chosen it for her book club. (That's how I became interested in it) Lesson: Don't try to pull the wool over Oprah's eyes!

I also find disturbing: Angelina Jolie confirmed she's pregnant with Brad's baby. ugg. Sorry if you like her--I've never been a fan. So how many kids does this make for her? Don't get me wrong, I commend her for adopting those cute kids from 3rd world countries. And I'm sure it was all speculation, but wasn't the main reason that Brad & Jen broke up because she wanted kids & he didn't???? Who knows--you can't believe anything you read.
On a lighter note--Also pregnant: the Gwyns--Gwen Stefani and Gwyneth Paltrow--Love them both! :)
Let's just hope Gwyneth doesn't name this one Orange.

The Dream Crib & Scrapper's Drought is Over!

Ok, now everytime I look at the pic of that crib below, it looks country-style to me. Which is so NOT me. It looked more swanky before or something. Here's the DREAM CRIB!!!!! Target of course. Only $369.99. It's a little over the budget for a crib. Keep in mind we have Nothing for the baby so far besides a few onesies and some blankets that my family gave us. We have so much to buy and it's overwhelming, as many of you out there already know! So I don't think we can really afford to buy the Dream Crib :( but we'll see...

I actually scrapped last night and tonight! I got on the computer to do a little journaling and decided while I was here, I just might as well check my e-mail. and my blog. and a few other blogs I stalk. and listen to some music. I'll get to the journaling sooner or later. I just got 5 rolls of film back from Wal-Mart tonight! (since I'm living the non-digi life--STILL!) So I finally have subect matter to scrap! That is so unlike me--I usually get my pics developed immediately and scrap them even faster. But as you know, I have pregnancy mind right now. Which means: overwhelmed, procrastinating, should be cleaning and organizing before the baby comes, sleepy, worn-out, etc, etc. Oh wait--I felt like that Before I was pregnant!
I scrapped our local Cystic Fibrosis 5K Walk that I have participated in for the last 5 years and this year was on the committee that organized it. Our good friend's daughter has CF--you should check out the website--it's more common than you think. Anyway, the layout turned out pretty cute. Then last night (before I had the 5 rolls of pics) I scrapped some oldies--my sister's Senior Prom! She's now 32. I love how it turned out. Wish I could post, but don't really know how. I'll learn that one of these days and then I can post on 2Peas and my blog. hmmm--I'm way behind on that! I'm kind-of self taught on the computer. Anyway, guess I'll get that journaling done. Uh--can I just say--HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!! 2006!!!!!! We're going to our friend's for a party. I ought to have a lot of fun watching everyone have fun while I drink Welch's sparkling grape non-alcoholic stuff. (it's really good though!) At least one other friend is also pregnant. Goodbye 2005!!!!!!!!!!

Listen to Your Heart (cheesy song title, title) AKA Baby Stuff!

The crib I like--sans the fuggly country blanket in the pic! It's not my "dream crib" but that one is just too pricey! This one does convert into a daybed for toddlers and a regular bed for kids. Smart investment, I think.

This is the girl bedding I like at Target.com. It's called "Babylicious" heehee

Boy version and girl version. Like the girl version better in this pattern. It's not that boyish...

Yesterday I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time!! It was pretty awesome, I must say, minus the whole exam part. I better get used to that, though! ugg. The week of Valentine's day is when we have the Ultrasound and find out the sex! He/She better not even think of crossing his/her legs!! My Scraproom-soon-to-be-Nursery is pinker than pink! We're talkin' Pepto, people. We must know whether we have to paint or not. Even if it's a girl, I'll want to add some green--that pink & green combo is so cute right now. The bedding above from Target would be really spunky.

Christmas is 9 days away!! 9!!! Holy crap! We have soo many gifts to still buy. We're gonna shop til we drop this weekend and fight the crowds of other last-minute people. I can't stand those people and now I am one. (eating my words)
Gotta go shower and think about sleeping. Tomorrow is Friday AND payday--woohoo!
Oh--And I have decided to take that job at work. Kinda excited about it. and scared.
Bye!

Soooo far behind!!!

I know, I know. I have been the world's worst blogger lately! Just give me some sympathy--I'm 11 weeks preggo (as of today!) and it's Christmastime! We all know how draining that is! I'm so far behind on buying presents that's it's almost depressing. Our tree has 4 gifts under it and it's 2 weeks til Christmas! Next week we are going to buy some of those Visa gift cards for Wayne's family, so that will take care of a bunch of gifts. I have no ideas for anyone else--of things that we can afford, that is. Wish me luck...
The coolest thing happened this Sat. night. I work at a Women's Hospital and a lady I work with (she's the Nursery Supervisor and I'm also I'm friends with her) called me at home and asked me if I would be interested in being the Nursery Unit Secretary! The position is going to be open on Monday. I'm so flattered and it's my chance to get out of Materials, but then the jobs is kinda hairy. and I will be around screaming babies all day. (although they are adorable!) I'm sure you get used to that and tune them out. So, I'm considering it and I'm going to talk to her tomorrow more about it and try to make up my mind. I also would not have to lift heavy boxes while I'm pregnant--big plus. Ok--gotta go shower and watch the
Survivor finale!!! Go Steph!!!

Gobble til you Wobble

I have no cool pics to post because my digi is broken and I have been too lazy to go exchange it!!! I hate when blogs don't have pics! It breaks up all that reading. Well folks, no pics here!! You'll just have to rely on my extraordinary verbage to excite you--and the crazy cartoon turkey.

So I have been so extremely TIRED that I can't get anything done. I literally laid around and slept all weekend. At least I do have an excuse! I guess being prego really takes it out of you! I was seriously getting depressed by the end of Sunday that I hadn't done anything at all. I was so in the mood to put up the Christmas tree and decorate the mantel (Yes--before Thanksgiving! That's soo not me!) But I couldn't get up off my butt. Wayne was buzzing around like a hummingbird cleaning and being productive and that made me feel worse cuz I was just sitting there watching him. I did watch 2 movies--Monster-In-Law (very cute) and Nat'l Lampoon's Van Wilder (old and totally a guy movie but had funny parts).
Thanksgiving is Thursday!! I can't wait to eat, eat, eat!!! My aunt Marla will be arriving from California tomorrow and my grandma form Fort Smith is up all week. Mom is stressing a little. She cut her finger on a metal broom handle (long story--freak accident!) so she's having trouble cleaning & stuff. Grandma had to come over and wash handwash dishes & stuff like that. Of course it would happen the week before Turkey day.
My sister and her family are at Disneyworld right now!! I'm feeding their doggie while they're gone--he's a cutie. Well, this is pretty boring blabbing--so gotta run!
P.S. Can't wait to shop on "Black Friday!" Hopefully I can last & not have to take a nap!

Positively Pregnant!!!!!

I'm Pregnant!!! We're so excited! I'm 7 weeks along and thankfully I have not been sick--not once! I've had other symptoms, but luckily no morning sickness. It's so weird--we've talked about it for so long that it's hard to believe it's reality. We told our families this weekend and everyone is excited and happy for us. I feel a little overwhelmed (which I'm sure is normal--especially for your first baby) I wonder if it's a boy or a girl--I don't really care as long as it's healthy. Wayne would really like a boy, though. I do too--but either is great! It's so amazing to think that I'm carrying a living being...
I've got to get scrapping a pregnancy album/journal. And a baby album--which I can't really start until we find out the baby's sex. Also, byebye scraproom! :( It will now be the Nursery. And did I mention it's painted pink??? We may be painting sometime in the next several months. If it's a girl, I've decided to do the cute pink & green that's so in right now and I will only have to modify the room slightly that way. If it's a boy...square one. It will all be so worth it though! Well, off to 2 Peas to get some ideas to start on the Prego album!

Pigskin, Sunburns, & (game)Cocks

We went to the Razorback game today vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks. It started at 11:30 because it was on tv (ugg) We had to get straight up and get ready and we swung into MickeyD's with only 5 minutes to spare before breakfast was over and crammed down bacon, egg, & cheese biscuits while we drove to Fayetteville. On the way, I remembered that we didn't put sunscreen on--this is even after an old lady came to the door while we were getting ready and passed out some flyer on the effects of skin cancer. You'd think that would have triggered my memory--but no. So the game was ok but we lost. again. It was so hot & sunny--not a cloud in the sky. So my face is burning off right now! It's radiating heat that could melt the polar ice caps! And I look like a racoon from my sunglasses. My arms and chest got too much sun also. Wayne is just as bad. Only he'll have it for a week--mine will fade pretty quickly.

Ok--so I have to mention this cock at the game--what--I said we were playing the gamecocks! So anyway our seats were right next to the visitor's section and toward the end of the game this older So. Carolina guy who was sitting with his wife--approx 60ish years old--cusses at this (Arkansas) boy (around 10) to sit down because he can't see! There were so many open seats that he could have easily moved and several other people were standing, too. I mean, come on--it's a football game! So the kid's Dad yells back at the guy and says that he doesn't need to talk to his son that way and they start bickering. Everyone turned and was ready to jump this asshole when the kid's Mom turns around and says that he should be ashamed of himself for cussing out a little boy. Well, then the jerk starts bitching at Her!! The Dad/Husband was about to get up & kick his ass when he finally shut up. It was unreal! the next play, everyone stood up and made sure he couldn't see! the guy stood up and moved and the next time he stood up Wayne yelled "Sit Down!" and the guy turned and shot him a dirty look. What a cock.

Couch Potato

My top 10 fav tv shows:
1. LOST
2. Oprah
3. CSI
4. CSI:Miami
5. Desperate Housewives
6. Survivor
7. Cold Case
8. Without a Trace
9. Grey's Anatomy
10. House
It's a good thing I heart tv because 2nite I'm feeling not so good. Although there's no good shows on Tuesdays. All day today my stomach has been in knots and I've felt sick. I wish I could call in tomorrow, but read the entry below & you'll see why I can't.

Halloween was fun, the kids looked cute, and I got to see my best friend, Tori and her daughter. It was so crazy because I decided to throw on angel wings and a halo from a previous year's costume and Tori showed up as a devil! It was liked we had planned it. Her daughter, Mya was a little devil also--she's so cute! Wish I had pics to share but my digi is Broken!! I hate that! Just when I was getting used to it. We only had 15 trick-or-treaters but my parents had 87! We have tons of candy left which is just great because I will eat it all. It's Nov 1st! AHHH the holidays are quickly approaching. I'm gonna try to remember the real reason to celebrate and not get caught up in the stress of it all this year.

Happy Halloween!

This is sooo me.... Happy Halloween!

Work Sux but God is Great

Ok--so it's Saturday--the best day of the week. But I can't stop thinking about how I have to go into work tomorrow morning. I am soooo fed up with this crap at work that I'm about ready to tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine. I run the entire dept by myself and volume has picked up so much that I can barely keep up. And there's no hope of it letting up--we will continue to get busier and busier. I'm constantly being paged when I'm not at work and called in on the weekends although I trained a person specifically to cover weekends! And believe me when I say that I do NOT get paid enough to deal with this shit. I let my bosses and the COO know that I needed help about 6 weeks ago and they provided me with "weekend girl" 2-4 hours a week. Now that is so helpful. She's actually only helped a total of 4 times in the last 6 weeks because, of course, her car was in the shop for 2 weeks and she had no way of getting to work. So, I'm left wondering--do I stick it out and wait for something to happen or start looking for a job??? OK--enough venting.

On a lighter note-- Last Sunday at church was amazing! This young guy had come to church several times before and told us about how he lives in his car and has been homeless for about a year. He said he had fallen away from God and had been heavy into drugs. He said he was now clean and had stopped hanging out with all his old druggie friends. I had prayed for him. He seemed lost. Then last Sunday, at the morning service (I don't go in the morning, but my sister & her family does) he was suppossed to get Baptized and he didn't show. As my sister tells it, it was a little awkward--the water was filled and ready to go and the pastor had to say a few words to the congregation to smooth it over. Well, the guy showed up last Sunday evening and came forward and confessed his faith in front of us all. The evening service is a pretty small group--there were about 15-20 of us there that night. My Uncle was visiting from San Fran so he and my Mom were also there. The guy said that he couldn't bring himself to walk into the church that morning. He had too much self-doubt. So he went back to his car and began crying--sobbing even. Asking God what he should do. He said he cried for almost 2 hours. Then his hands and arms went numb. He got out of the car and ran into the church, into the sanctuary, to the alter area. He stood crying and trembling and he heard in his head "Submit, Submit." It was then he knew he was ready to get baptized. He didn't expect any of us to believe this story, but he told it anyway. So last Sunday evening as he stood in front of us--still crying and trembling, he decided that he'd like to go ahead and get baptized right then. We made our way to the dark sanctuary--turned on the lights and filled the water. There were 10 of us and we sang "Amazing Grace" for him and he was baptized. I was crying like a baby. AMEN!

Grandma Update

My Grandma had surgery today and they removed the 2 cancerous tumors. They did some exploring and came up with nothing else--thank goodness. Hopefully all of our prayers came true. She will still have to have chemo :( but it could be worse. I'm pooped--going to bed. ZZZZZ

5 FIVE 5 FIVE 5

Stole this from April's blog (don't know her but she's got a cool blog!) But I added a few of my own catagories. Here's my answers:
5 songs of right now: Kanye West "Gold Digger", Gorillaz "Dare", Rob Thomas "This is how a Heart Breaks", Mercy Me "Homesick", Cyndi Lauper "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" (threw that in to see if you're paying attention)
5 snacks: buttery popcorn, caramel apples with nuts (it's fall!), cereal, pretzels, gummy worms
5 things I'd do with a million $'s: share it with family, new cars & a big house, save some, donate some, new wardrobe
5 places I'd run away to: Paris, Italy, Hawaii, New York, Australia
5 things I'd never wear: Blue eyeshadow, legwarmers, real fur, lots of big jewelry, my birthday suit (in public!)
5 greatest joys: my family, my faith, my employment, my husband, scrapbooking :)
5 current reads: Application Study Bible, Wake Up Laughing (women's devotional), Creating Keepsakes mag, Memory Makers mag, O mag (gotta have my Oprah!)
5 things I can't stand: inconsiderate people, chicken fried steak, tailgaters (the driving kind...heehee), stress, too little time
That's all for now! I hope to get off work early tomorrow and go to a few craft fairs with Mom. Traffic will be just wonderful. It's been a terrible week and I'm so glad it's almost over!!
Viva la Friday! (whatever that means)

The "C" Word and more

Well, tomorrow we will find out if my grandma is having surgery or what. She got cancer in 1992, then again in 1997. Now I guess it's back. What a terrible feeling to have to deal with. Knowing that you've put your All into fighting off something that's trying to kill you and after throwing up, being weak, staying at home instead of going out so you won't catch something, loosing all of your hair---and finally succeeding--beating it--for it to come back to haunt you. Not once, but twice. She needs our prayers. We find out tomorrow what exactly is up--on her 76th birthday!

Ok, so that was depressing. I've been meaning to get that out, but was procrastinating. I like to post cheery things usually. Here's some things I'm thankful for right now: the crisp Autumn weather, my new Church experience, reading my study Bible, my creative outlet--scrapbooking, new friends, old friends, my wonderful husband, my furbaby Bianca, getting back in touch with my family.
Which reminds me...I've been thinking about coordinating a monthly or bimonthly "Family Night." I just had a thought that my calendar is always full of events with friends and Junior League obligations and that it would be great to have a planned night where everyone drops everything and comes together and plays a board game or watches a movie or something. Since we all live really close together now, it would be easy (although we should have been doing it when we lived further apart) Anyway, thinking about it...
Have a good week.

.....BREATHE.....
